Fostering Viet Nam tourism promotion in Japan

Fostering Viet Nam tourism promotion in Japan

(TITC) – In the framework of Viet Nam Culture and Tourism Festival 2015 in Japan, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism organized two workshops on promoting Viet Nam tourism in Osaka (June 10, 2015) and in Tokyo (June 15, 2015).

These workshops were held in close collaboration of Japan Association of Travel Agents (JATA), Vietnamese Embassy in Japan, Vietnamese Consulate General in Osaka and Vietnam Airlines’ representative offices in Tokyo and Osaka. In attendance were representatives of travel agencies, news agencies, authorities and associations of Osaka and Tokyo.

Speaking at the workshops, Deputy Minister Vuong Duy Bien emphasized the importance of Japanese tourist market for Viet Nam tourism. In recent years, Japan is among the top three leading source markets of Viet Nam tourism. In 2013 and 2014, Japanese outbound tourists dropped significantly due to the impact of the Yen’s decline, but the number of Japanese tourists to Viet Nam has been rising steadily. In the coming time, Viet Nam will continue to boost tourism promotion in this market.

At these workshops, representatives of Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism, Association of Hotels and Golf courses in Central and H.I.S Han River Tourism Co., Ltd focused on introducing new products and services, Son Doong Cave, Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park, Phu Quoc, Trang An, Sa Pa to Japanese tour operators and travel agents. This was a good opportunity for businesses of the two sides to seek partners and strengthen cooperation in the exchange of tourists.
