Viet Nam promotes tourism in Singapore
 
(TITC) – On 4th June 2015, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Viet Nam launched tourism roadshow in Singapore.
 
 
This is one of the significant activities to celebrate the 50 years National Day of  the Republic of Singapore (August 09, 1965 - 2015), 70 years National Day of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam (September 02, 1945 - 2015), contributing to strengthen traditional friendship between the two countries.
 
The roadshow had the participation of Mr. Lim Hng Kiang, Minister of Trade and Industry of Singapore; Mr. Nguyen Tien Minh, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam in Singapore; Mr. Jung Young Soo, Advisor to CJ Group, Korea and international travel agencies, diplomatic missions and over 20 media agencies in Singapore.
 
Speaking at the roadshow, Minister Hoang Tuan Anh emphasized, in recent years, the relationship and cooperation between Viet Nam and Singapore has been strengthened, especially in tourism.
 
Singapore is an important source market of Viet Nam’s tourism. In 2014, Viet Nam attracted 202,436 Singaporean arrivals, up by 3.4% over 2013, ranked 12th among the top source markets of Viet Nam’s tourism. In 2014, there were 424,408 Vietnamese arrivals to Singapore, up by 11.5% over the previous year.
 
The roadshow in Singapore was a good opportunity to enhance cooperation in tourism in particular and traditional friendship between the two countries in general. It is also a chance for Singaporeans to get insights about country, people, culture and tourism of Viet Nam.
 
 
 
At the roadshow, the images of the Son Doong cave caught the attention of the participants. Recently, American Broadcasting Company (ABC channel) broadcasted live a programme on Son Doong cave to millions of viewers on Good Morning America.
