Thank you ceremony to honor the foreign travel agencies sending tourists to Viet Nam
 
 
(TITC) – On 28 Nov 2014, in Ha Noi, Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) in collaboration with Vietnam Airlines organized “Thank you ceremony” to honor 47 foreign travel agencies sending tourists to Viet Nam.
 
 
This was an important event aiming to acknowledge the contribution of travel agencies in key source markets to the development of Viet Nam tourism over the past years.
 
The ceremony had presence of Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ho Anh Tuan; General Director of VNAT Nguyen Van Tuan; representatives of relevant departments; representatives of foreign embassies in Viet Nam, international organizations, foreign tourism offices in Viet Nam, domestic and international airlines and tourism businesses; and media agencies.
 
Speaking at the ceremony, VNAT’s General Director Nguyen Van Tuan appreciated effective cooperation between foreign travel agencies and Vietnamese tourism businesses in promoting Viet Nam’s image and ensuring the best quality of services for tourists.
 
He emphasized that Viet Nam tourism has recovered and positively grown while facing many difficulties and challenges. In 11 months of 2014, the number of international tourists to Viet Nam reached 7.2 million arrivals, increasing by 5.4% over the same period last year. In 2014, Viet Nam is expected to welcome approximately 8 million international tourist arrivals, up 5% over 2013. The growth has shown the efforts of the whole tourism industry, including foreign travel agencies sending tourists to Viet Nam. General Director Nguyen Van Tuan hoped that Viet Nam with attractive and diversified tourism potentials as well as safe and stable environment would continue to be an exciting destination for international tourists.
 
The 47 foreign travel agencies are from 17 key source markets of Viet Nam namely United State of America, India, Russia, Japan, South of Korea, France, Australia, Laos, China, Taiwan & Hong Kong (China), Sweden, Germany, United Kingdom, Netherlands, Thailand and Ukraine.
 
In the framework of the “Thank you ceremony” program, from 27-28 Nov 2014, VNAT organized a fam trip for the foreign travel agencies to some attractions in Ninh Binh and Ha Noi, especially Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex and Thang Long Imperial Citadel which have been recognized as world heritage sites by UNESCO.
