Various attractive activities to take place in Hue Traditional Craft Festival 2015
 
(TITC) – Hue Traditional Craft Festival 2015 themed “Quintessence of Vietnamese Craft” will take place from April 29 – May 3, 2015 with various attractive activities.  It is the sixth time, the Festival has been organized aiming to gather and honor artisans and famous craft villages in Thua Thien Hue and nationwide.
 
 
The Festival 2015 will focus on showcasing unique craft products imbued with Vietnamese cultural identities which were introduced in the 5 previous festivals and favored by visitors, namely embroidery, mosaic, ceramics, textile, copper casting, conical hat, Sinh village painting, lantern and Hue’s cuisine.
 
The Hue Traditional Craft Festival 2015 is expected to attract the participation of more than 200 artisans from 40 famous craft villages in Thua Thien Hue province and across the country.
 
Main activities of the Hue Traditional Craft Festival 2015 will include:
 
Exhibition spaces of craft products and craft villages: Nguyen Dinh Chieu walking street, Phan Boi Chau park and Tu Tuong park will be designed in the style of Hue’s traditional houses (nhà rường) to display and demonstrate handicraft products.
 
At the Hue Cultural Museum, Hue traditional crafts and Hue culture over the periods will be introduced to visitors.
 
Especially, beautiful photos by photographers from ASEAN countries will be exhibited with the theme “Cultural beauty of ASEAN countries”. Kyoto City will participate to display Japanese traditional custom – Kimono.
 
Hue culinary Exhibition: Hue’s specialties will be showcased in the area of 3/2 Park where visitors will have good chance to enjoy and learn how to cook Hue traditional cuisines.
 
Art performance programs will take place continuously from the opening ceremony on April 29th to closing ceremony on May 3rd with the presence of artists and models from Ha Noi, Ho Chi Minh city and Hue. The opening ceremony will start at 08.00pm on April 29th in Quoc Hoc Stele stage and be live broadcasted on VTV2 channel.
 
Besides, many public cultural activities will be organized by Hue Monument Conservation Centre, Hue Cultural Centre, Hue city’s Education and Training Division, Hue City's Unions…during the Festival.
 
In the framework of the festival, multiple responding and mainstreaming activities will be held such as Seminar on “Hue and Vietnamese identities in traditional craft products”; Photo exhibition, art exhibition and artifact display; Meeting and honoring artisans; Contest of some traditional crafts for pupils… Moreover, travel agencies will also offer tours to craft villages in Hue like bronze casting village, Thuy Bieu garden house, “impressive green Hue” tour.
 
The Hue Traditional Craft Festival has truly become one of the most typical cultural events to praise the creativeness of Vietnamese artisans and traditional craft villages. It certainly contributes to fostering economic development and affirms the brand of a premier festival city of Viet Nam.
