Local, foreign artisans gather for kite festival
 
Up to 97 kite artisans from 17 local clubs and 20 foreign teams will participate in the sixth Ba Ria - Vung Tau International Kite Festival 2015. 
 
 
The annual event will take place from April 21-26, according to the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism. 
 
Vung Tau city will be the main venue for the event, which will include kite flying, a kite exhibition and clinics on making kites. 
 
With leading Vietnamese and global kite artisans, the festival promises to be an eye-catching occasion for locals and visitors, according to organisers. 
 
The festival will have a number of new features this year, such as flying kites to music and night flying. 
 
Vietnam’s traditional kites, with flutes attached, will be introduced to international friends at the festival. 
 
There will be a kite demonstration by local and international artisans on April 23 at Ho Tram Strip, a five-star resort, in Xuyen Moc district. 
 
The southern coastal province also unveiled information on the 2015 Vung Tau Cuisine Festival. 
 
The festival is expected to have 74 booths from 37 enterprises, including from Thailand, Ukraine, and Malaysia. 
 
The annual festival has become one of the province’s main attractions, introducing local and foreign dishes to locals and international tourists.
