Unlocking the Potential of the Mekong Region via Innovative Partnerships
 
 
(TITC) – This is the theme of Mekong Tourism Symposium which will be held on June 18, 2015 in Da Nang.
 
 
Mekong Tourism Symposium is an important event in the framework of Mekong Tourism Forum from June 15 – 18, 2015 in Da Nang. This is an opportunity for Viet Nam to confirm the position in sub-regional tourism cooperation and promote Viet Nam’s outstanding tourism products.
 
The symposium is expected to attract about 250 Vietnamese and international participants. The participants will focus on discussing the following contents: Opportunities and challenges of unlocking the potential of the Mekong Region via innovative partnerships; Capacity improvement and human resource development via innovative partnerships; Innovative partnerships and Greater Mekong Sub-region tourism; Case study Australia: Developing innovative partnerships that drive product distribution and success of Australian Tourism Data Warehouse; Case study Thailand: Developing innovative partnerships that drive positioning; Case study Viet Nam: Developing innovative partnerships that drive destination development; Outcome and recommendations from the Mekong tourism marketing workshop, Mekong tourism investment summit, Mekong tourism social media boot-camp; Introduction of website mekongtourism.org; Idea of the Mekong Tourism Advisory Group (MeTAG); Introduction of the Mekong innovative tourism awards, etc.

  To make a boat tour along the O Lau River, we departed at a wharf in Hoi Ky Village in Thua Thien-Hue Province, where bamboo clumps mirrored in the clear water. We slowly sailed past My Xuyen carpentry village and Phuoc Tich ceramic village, which is famous for its centuries-old wooden houses.

A programme is jointly held by the central provinces of Nghe An and Ha Tinh on January 31, 2015 to receive the UNESCO certification for local Vi-Giam folk singing as part of humanity’s intangible cultural heritage.
