Private aviation firm offers sightseeing tours in Mekong Delta

Private aviation firm offers sightseeing tours in Mekong Delta

Hanoi-based Green Planet Aviation Co. is planning to offer pilot training courses, lease private planes, arrange sightseeing tours by air, provide search and rescue services and sell aircraft, said chairman Cao Van Son.

The company is displaying its two light aircraft at the Mekong Delta Green Tourism Week which opened in Can Tho City last Saturday.

Son told the Daily that his firm was preparing to tap Can Tho as a potential aviation market as the Hanoi and HCMC markets were already crowded.

The company’s two light aircraft are the two-seat helicopter Rotorway A600 weighing 680 kilograms and priced at VND5 billion, and the two-seat Atec 321 aircraft weighing 472.5 kilograms and costing VND4 billion.

Pilot Pham Duc Anh said the company would purchase aircraft of four seats and two engines in 2016 to expand services. The two existing planes of the company are parked at Can Tho airport.

Regarding service fees, according to Son, a one-month pilot training course for light aircraft (45 hours) is VND300 million while a sightseeing tour is charged US$300 per hour (over VND6.3 million).
