Luring more tourists from UK, France, Germany, Spain, Italy and Belarus to Viet Nam
 
 
(TITC) – To take advantage of Vietnamese Government’s visa waiver policy for citizens of the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Spain and Italy (in one year) and the Republic of Belarus (in 5 years) from July 1, 2015, Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism held a meeting on June 25, 2015 to discuss solutions to lure more tourists from these countries to Viet Nam.
 
 
In attendance were General Director Nguyen Van Tuan, Deputy General Director Nguyen Quoc Hung, Deputy General Director Ha Van Sieu, Vice Chairman of Viet Nam Tourism Association Vu The Binh, representatives of Department of International Cooperation (under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism), VNAT’s departments and units, tourism enterprises and Vietnam Airlines.
 
At the meeting, the participants discussed solutions to attract more tourists from 6 markets and focused on: Working with the Embassies of these countries in Viet Nam; Informing about Vietnamese Government’s visa waiver policy and providing relevant information through partner network; Organizing workshop on solutions to attract more tourists from the 5 Western Europe countries; Holding roadshows to introduce Viet Nam tourism in these markets; Welcoming presstrip delegations to Viet Nam to explore and promote  Viet Nam’s tourism; Participating in World Travel Market 2015 in London and organizing a press conference to introduce Viet Nam’s policy and tourism products; Supporting promotional activities of Vietnam Airlines, ministries, localities, airlines and businesses.
 
From June 25 – 26, 2015, VNAT’s delegation led by General Director Nguyen Van Tuan worked with the Belarusian, Spanish, British, French and Italian Embassies in Viet Nam to inform about Vietnamese Government’s visa waiver policy and activities to lure tourists to Viet Nam. The General Director also called for the Embassies’ support in promotional activities, providing information to media and businesses in these countries.

  To make a boat tour along the O Lau River, we departed at a wharf in Hoi Ky Village in Thua Thien-Hue Province, where bamboo clumps mirrored in the clear water. We slowly sailed past My Xuyen carpentry village and Phuoc Tich ceramic village, which is famous for its centuries-old wooden houses.

Vi-Giam singing - intangible cultural heritage of humanity
A programme is jointly held by the central provinces of Nghe An and Ha Tinh on January 31, 2015 to receive the UNESCO certification for local Vi-Giam folk singing as part of humanity’s intangible cultural heritage.
