Ha Noi celebrates the 55th anniversary of Viet Nam tourism industry
 
 
(TITC) – On July 6, 2015, the Ha Noi Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism held a conference to celebrate the 55th anniversary of Viet Nam tourism industry and implement plan of the last 6 months of 2015 and Resolution No.92/NQ-CP to develop Viet Nam Tourism in the new period.
 
 
The conference had the attendance of Deputy General Director of Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Hung; Director of Ha Noi Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Mr. To Van Dong; representatives of Northern Vietnam Airlines, UNESCO in Viet Nam and local tourism businesses.
 
Viet Nam’s tourism has been recognized as one of key economic sector of the country since 1990. Over 55 years of development, Viet Nam tourism sector has gained many remarkable achievements: In 2014, Viet Nam welcomed 7,874,000 int’l arrivals and 35 million domestic trippers, increasing 31 and 35 times over year of 1990 respectively, total tourism revenue reached 230 trillion VND, up 78 times over 1990.
 
 
 
In the first 6 month of 2015, Ha Noi welcomed 1,531,191 int’l arrivals and 8,450,000 domestic trippers, increasing 5% and 3% over the same period last year respectively, the total tourism revenue estimated 25,324 billion VND, up 2.8 % over the same period last year.
 
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Hung congratulated the achievements that Ha Noi has gained in recent years. He suggested in the coming time, Ha Noi should focus on implementation of Resolution No. 92/NQ–CP; Directive 14/CT–TTg; and Resolution No.46/ NQ-CP and Resolution No.39/NQ-CP on visa exemption for citizens of 6 countries: the UK, France, Germany, Spain, Italy and Belarus to uphold tourism development.
