Tra Co Communal House Festival opens
 
 
The traditional festival of Tra Co Communal House opened on July 15 in Tra Co Ward, Mong Cai City, Quang Ninh Province and is scheduled to last until July 18.
 
 
Tra Co Festival is an occasion to memorize tutelary genies of the village and wish the best for the village and attendants.
 
At the beginning of Tra Co Festival is the ritual procession. After the procession, there are many fun activities for entertainment such as the fattest pig competition, cooking contest, traditional dancing, etc.
 
The festival is now attracting a crowd of pilgrims from home and abroad.
 
Situated next to a beautiful beach in Tra Co Ward, Mong Cai City, Tra Co Communal House was built in 1511 with unique architectural style of the later Le Dynasty. The structure was dedicated to tutelary genies of the village. The historical relic is typical for village culture of Viet Nam in feudal period.
