Exhibition on “Study and Follow Ho Chi Minh’s Moral Example”

Exhibition on “Study and Follow Ho Chi Minh’s Moral Example”

An exhibition entitled “Study and Follow Ho Chi Minh’s Moral Example” celebrating the 125th birth anniversary of late President Ho Chi Minh (May 19) opened at the Exhibition House in Hanoi on May 15.

Artwork by Do Manh Cuong

The exhibition features 120 artworks including paintings, graphics, sculpture and posters with a focus on President Ho Chi Minh and his journey to find a way to liberate Vietnam; the establishment of the Communist Party.

They are made from various materials such as lacquer, oil, silk, acrylic, ceramic, wood, composite, copper.

Addressing the launching, Chairwoman of the Hanoi Fine Arts Association Pham Kim Binh, the host of the exhibition said that the exhibition conveys the love of capital’s artists for President Ho, particularly as the country celebrates the 125th birthday of the late national leader (1890-2015).

The exhibits feature the President’s life from his journey to find the way to national salvation, to his founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam and his leadership in the struggles against foreign invaders for national independence, freedom and unification.

According to painter Do Manh Cuong, as the topic on Uncle Ho is very vast, he had to carefully consider what to feature in his work, and spent time studying the President.

Although many artists have used the theme ‘Uncle Ho and children’, his painting is different as it features Uncle Ho surrounded by children representing ethnic groups from across the country.

The greatest difficulty in drawing President Ho, Cuong said, is how to capture and convey the spirit of a mind of great depth.

The display will run until May 25.
